The 2008 season also revived interest in the biological control of biting flies. Climactic changes caused by global warming are likely to result in an increase in summer precipitation and, as a result, in the number of treatments required to obtain a guaranteed percentage of nuisance reduction. Climactic change may also stimulate demand for GDG services in regions that have so far escaped the biting insect nuisance.
The Corporation has widened its geographical territory and has an impressive list of realizations (municipal control programs in Canada). The Corporation is following a business development strategic plan that aims to penetrate fast-growth markets. With this in mind, management continues to assess opportunities for acquiring companies that are active in its sector of activities.
On the international level, the Company continues its steps of marketing mainly in the Caribbean, the Central America and South America. The activities of GDG in Canada are seasonal activities. By also developing the international market, the Company will stabilize its activities throughout the year.
